Nuclear  energy generation: Spearheaded Kent County Council’s campaign for new nuclear energy generation at Dungeness, working across councils, national agencies, political parties and business – this campaign is still underway.

Spatial planning: Led strategic planning policy for the Thames Estuary Growth Board (Pan Regional Partnership), with the Thames Estuary subsequently highlighted in the Government’s spatial planning consultation.

“Designed  to deliver” programme: Directed planning design and design coding for the Thames Estuary Growth Board to unlock stalled sites and release high quality housing delivery, commissioning both an innovative small sites design code in Chatham and a design code to maintain independence through housing for older people, as part of a 1,000 home delivery project across Kent and the Thames Estuary. 

“Global Works” Inward Investment Strategy: Developed the Thames Estuary Growth Board’s original inward investment strategy, underpinning the Board’s promotion of major growth opportunities to leading international investors and businesses.

£480m Local Growth Deal: Secured the South East Local Enterprise Partnership’s original £480m+ Growth Deal with Government, together with skills (£50m) and EU growth funding (£15m) programmes, for local infrastructure, skills and business.
